The three dioceses of Wisconsin (Eau Claire, Fond du Lac, Milwaukee) voted in favor of the resolution to move forward with drafting a plan for reunification of the three Wisconsin dioceses.

The Grace Church Food Pantry has been a welcoming place for the hungry on the Capitol Square for over 50 years. Our food pantry is open regular hours Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, 1:00-3:00 pm, and first and third Saturdays, 10:00 am-noon.

Actively Involved

Creating a More Just Community

In response to the “Race to Equity” report produced by the Wisconsin Council for Children and Families, the many shootings by police of unarmed African-Americans across the country, and statewide mass incarceration, the Creating a More Just Community working group emerged in 2015. Read more about their efforts and get involved…

Homelessness

From 1984 until March 2020, Grace Church hosted the Men’s Drop-In Shelter. Due to COVID-19, operations have moved to 200 N. First Street. Read more...



Grace's Space

Positioned right across the street from the State Capitol Building near State Street, Grace Church is a natural location for meetings, retreats, sanctuary, and prayer. We are open to the public regularly for public witness. In 2018, we hosted the Poor People’s Campaign and a Governors’ candidates forum focused on criminal justice. In previous years, we offered hospitality during the Women's March on Madison 2017, A Day Without Latinos 2016, the protests of Act 10 in 2011, and other moments of community discussion and activism. Learn more…

OFF THE SQUARE CLUB

The Lutheran Social Services - Off the Square Club, is a daytime support center for adults who need mental health support, including those with co-occurring conditions, such as substance use disorder. You can visit this location to receive several different services, which range from food and computer access to peer based counseling and structured activities. Services are covered by donations and are available at no cost. Off the Square Club is located at Grace Church.

Friday-Sunday: Closed

WEDDINGS AT GRACE

As Distinctive as Your Special Day

There may be regulations in place that require social distancing and mask-wearing and limit the size of the bridal party and the number of attendees. The required deposit will be refunded in its entirety if diocesan guidelines prevent public worship. We are required to comply with those diocesan guidelines which are stricter than either the State of Wisconsin or the Madison-Dane County Public Health orders.
